Our Approach

Considered
by Design

Beautiful spaces should be made thoughtfully — from the way they're designed to the materials that go into them.

At Buxleys, we believe quality craftsmanship and responsible choices naturally belong together. Wherever practical, we look to retain, restore, repurpose and reuse quality existing materials rather than automatically replacing them.

We have a particular appreciation for handmade products and British-made materials. Wherever suitable for a project, we prefer to source from UK manufacturers, independent makers and craftspeople, selecting products for their quality, character and longevity.

01Made in Britain

Supporting craftsmanship closer to home.

Wherever practical, Buxleys prefers British-made products and materials. We value the quality, provenance and craftsmanship offered by UK manufacturers, independent makers and specialist suppliers.

Choosing British-made products can also help reduce unnecessary transportation while supporting the skills and businesses that keep traditional and modern British craftsmanship alive.

02Handmade

Character you simply don't get from mass production.

From handmade and reclaimed tiles to specialist finishes and bespoke joinery, we have a particular appreciation for products that show the hand of the person who made them.

Natural variations, texture and individual character are not imperfections — they're part of what makes a beautifully made interior unique.

03Reuse & Repurpose

Good materials deserve a second life.

Renovation doesn't always have to mean replacing everything.

Where appropriate, we look for opportunities to retain, restore and repurpose existing timber, fittings and materials within our projects.

Whether it's giving existing timber a new purpose, retaining an original feature or incorporating reclaimed materials into a new design, we believe good materials shouldn't automatically become waste.

04Responsible Recycling

Reducing unnecessary construction waste.

Construction and renovation inevitably create waste, but we believe it should be managed responsibly.

Wherever practical, Buxleys aims to separate recyclable materials and reduce unnecessary disposal, while identifying materials that can potentially be reused or repurposed before they're treated as waste.

05Built to Last

Quality is sustainability in its simplest form.

One of the most responsible choices we can make is to create something that won't need replacing again in a few years.

Buxleys favours thoughtful design, quality materials and skilled workmanship intended to stand the test of time.

We don't believe in disposable interiors. We believe in creating spaces that improve with age and can be enjoyed for years to come.
